Six Steps From Assessment to Reassembly
- Assessment. The crew assesses the site, your stock and the access at both addresses.
- Scope and truck size. Truck size and hours are worked out from the volume of stock, furniture and equipment.
- Label and pack. Your team labels by zone or department. Packing is done by you, or by the crew on request.
- Load and secure. Furniture is wrapped in moving blankets and shrink wrap, then loaded by trolley and tail lift.
- Transport. The truck travels between your two Auckland addresses.
- Place and reassemble. Items go to the zones you marked, and dismantled furniture is put back together.
Planning checklist
This is general planning advice, not a schedule we set for you.
- Count stock early and decide what is not coming to the new site.
- Choose a trading window within our Monday to Saturday hours.
- Confirm loading access with the property manager at both sites.
- Tell us about oversized items before you book.
- Draw a floor plan of the new site and name its zones.
- Keep one contact person per site on move day.
What Changes the Cost of a Business Move
The formula is the hourly rate for your truck size, multiplied by time on the job, plus the callout fee.
The rates for each truck size are in the table near the top of this page. Packing is confirmed in your quote.
These things change the time on the job:
- Volume of stock and furniture
- Number of rooms or zones
- How much your team packs before move day
- Access and distance between the two sites
- Stairs, lifts and tail lift use
- Oversized items, which may cost extra, so tell us in advance
Trading Days, Stock and Loading Bays: Six Risks to Plan For
- What happens: The move spills into a day you meant to trade.
- Why: Nothing was sequenced, so the crew and your staff wait on each other.
- What we do: We assess the site first, agree the scope and follow your labels on the day.
- What you can do: Choose your quietest trading window within our Monday to Saturday hours.
- What happens: Boxes land in one pile and staff spend days re-sorting.
- Why: Stock left the old site without zone, shelf or department labels.
- What we do: The crew places items where you want them, guided by your labels.
- What you can do: Label by zone, shelf or department, and keep a stock list to tick off.
- What happens: An item turns out too heavy or bulky for the booked crew and truck.
- Why: The item was left off the list because nobody thinks of it as movable.
- What we do: We confirm at the assessment what the crew can handle. Oversized items may cost extra.
- What you can do: Tell us in advance, with rough size and weight. Do not assume specialist handling.
- What happens: The truck parks far from the door, or the lift is shared, and every trip slows.
- Why: Access was checked at one address but not the other.
- What we do: The assessment notes access at both sites. Every truck carries trolleys and a tail lift.
- What you can do: Confirm the loading area, lift, stairs and parking at both sites.
- What happens: Your make-good date arrives while stock is still on site.
- Why: The move was booked late, often on an end-of-month date.
- What we do: We recommend booking about 2–3 weeks ahead, and a move can be split across bookings.
- What you can do: Work back from the lease end date, and leave days for make-good after the truck leaves.
- What happens: The job passes the time you allowed for.
- Why: Unpacked stock, unlabelled boxes and slow access all add time.
- What we do: The formula is published: an hourly rate, a callout fee, a 2-hour minimum, then 15-minute increments.
- What you can do: Pack and label before the crew arrives, or split the move over two bookings.
